Selling Beyoncé as fashion icon hasn’t nearly been as smooth as her reign as queen of the entertainment world.

Thanks to her work with stylist Ty Hunter, we’ve seen Beyoncé’s style slowly evolve from pageant queen to street savvy. The pop star’s fans have no doubt noticed Queen B rocking much more affordable brands in recent times including Topshop, which she’s just announced a partnership with.

Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd is a new 50-50 joint venture company with Topshop and Beyoncé’s company Parkwood Entertainment to produce a full streetwear collection. There’s no name for the actual clothing line yet, which will encompass clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports.

“I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with their development team to create and produce a technical and fashion led collection is exciting and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”

“This not a collaboration,” Topshop owner Phillip Green told Women’s Wear Daily. “This is about building a brand and building a business – a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office.”

The partnership’s initial collection is set to launch in Autumn 2015.
