I sat down with Sharon Carpenter on “International Affair” (The Cut Channel, DASH Radio) to talk about her debut in the hit series Empire, how she was chosen for the role, the transition from journalist to media personality, her experiences as star and co-producer of VH1 reality show Gossip Game and more.
REVOLT’s own “boss lady” Val Boreland (EVP, Head of Programming & Production) announced today the network has secured exclusive television rights to the Global Spin Awards.
“We are very excited to bring the Global Spin Awards to cable, social and digital channels through REVOLT’s platforms,” Boreland said in a statement. “If REVOLT is going to be the new number one name in music for today’s young adults, then we need to bring forth diverse programming that appeals to the masses. From audience to impact, this is a partnership that makes complete sense.”
Founded by industry executive Shawn Prez, in just three short years The Global Spin Awards have become the most prestige gathering for the DJ community. The event’s partnership with REVOLT comes just in time for the upcoming REVOLT Music Conference (RMC), which will take place October 16 —19 at the Fountainebleau Miami Beach Hotel. The RMC will feature various onsite promotions to prepare audiences for the GSA broadcast.
The 3rd Annual Spin Awards will be held Tuesday, November 18 and broadcast on REVOLT the following week.
I attended last year’s Global Spin Awards on behalf of Monster Products to introduce the brand’s “Go DJ” portable device; check out my fun interview with Kid Capri (Lifetime Achievement Award recipient) and Monster CEO Noel Lee.
