Indique Celebrates “Sweet Pink” Breast Cancer Event

Indique Hair put on a finalé event across their nationwide boutiques yesterday for the #SweetPink initiative, which promotes breast cancer awareness during October.

I hosted at the brand’s New York City location and we had a blast! We had cupcakes and cocktails on deck and gave out chocolate bars (a la Willy Wonka) with special tickets inside promising goodies like discount codes, hair care products and more. One lucky winner per boutique won four tubes of hair and one overall winner won a whopping 20 tubes of hair in addition to becoming Indique’s newest ambassador.

Throughout October, Indique’s #SweetPink movement highlighted breast cancer awareness through initiatives like free makeovers for breast cancer survivors, referrals to mammogram screening centers and more. For more information, head to IndiqueHair.com.

L’Oreal Builds “Multicultural Beauty” With Carol’s Daughter

Much-loved multicultural beauty brand Carol’s Daughter has been purchased by L’Oreal USA.

Founded in 1993 by Lisa Price (pictured above) with big name investors like Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Carol’s Daughter will now be L’Oreal’s flagship “diverse” product line.

“Carol’s Daughter possesses an expertise in the multicultural consumer segment, a rapidly expanding market that represents an important growth opportunity in the beauty industry,” said Frederic Roze, president and CEO of L’Oreal USA. “This acquisition will enable L’Oreal USA to build a new dedicated multicultural beauty division as part of our Consumer Products business, and strengthen the company’s position in this dynamic market.

“L’Oreal has a proven track record of helping established companies achieve their full potential while staying true to the core of the brand and they have an understanding of the future of multicultural beauty. I could not be more proud to begin this next chapter of the Carol’s Daughter brand with them,” said Price in a statement.

Boss Lady x Indique Hair: The “Princess Jasmine” Look

“Lebanese girls always have the most beautiful hair” is a line I’ve heard many times. Whether super curly or bone straight, my Middle Eastern sisters are blessed with healthy, thick hair. That trait skipped me however and while I’d never complain about it (well, not that much) I didn’t argue when Indique (known for their high quality hair extensions) asked me if I want to partner with them to get the look I’ve always wanted.
